Usually I would like to save the best for last, but it’s just so hard when your Top Pick for your photographer is one of your dearest friends!

Elisabeth and I met my Sophomore and her Freshman year at DBU, but it wasn’t until we worked together in the Undergraduate Admissions office that I knew we were creating an amazing friendship. This girl is the whole reason behind me creating my own business and all the credit goes to her because I wouldn’t be looking at Borrowed & Blue without her!

So, all that being said- I’m sure you have noticed that I post a TON about her, well it’s not just her amazing personality, but her photography that captures you. I have never seen an unhappy client after meeting with Elisabeth. She loves everything she does and wants to create the most memorable moments for your special day.

So, I’m sure I could go on days and days about her, but I will let you see for yourself! Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Elisabeth Carol Photography:

Name: Elisabeth Bean
Location: Dallas, TX
What She Does: Photography

1. When did you decide to become a photographer?
In my first year of college I was an education major and hating it. Around that time I had taken a few photos with a friends semi pro camera and I fell in love! At first I had no interest in photography, I really just wanted a nice camera. As I was saving for it and trying to decide what I wanted to do, I was researching more about photography and graphic design. Within a few months I had changed my major to graphic design and started pursuing photography. That August I shot my first wedding with a photographer I really respected. I was hooked!!
2. What drew you to weddings/engagements?
I’ve always loved weddings (what girl doesn’t!) but more importantly, I loved being able to capture those fleeting moments that happen on such an important day. I love that my job allows me to capture parents exchanging teary looks during their little girl’s ceremony, bridesmaids hugging their best friend right after they have become a wife and I love those wow we just got married moments! I also love being able to serve my couple and their families on the wedding day. Getting them a glass of water, reminding them to enjoy the day or helping out with something that needs attention (even if it’s not my job). I want my couples to have the best possible day and I want to do whatever I can to make sure that happens.
3. Why is it important to get to know your photographer?
Your photographer is one of the only vendors that you will be working with from the very beginning of your engagement to months after the wedding. It’s so important to feel comfortable and relaxed with your photographer, getting to know them better will achieve that. I include engagement sessions in all of my collections so that my clients can get comfortable with me and being in front of the camera. This pays off on the wedding day and you can tell the difference in their wedding photos.
4. What do you do that sets you apart from other photographers?
I work really hard at making sure my clients have their photos quickly and I work hard at creating a great experience for them.
5. What advice do you have for couples when they are searching for their photographer?
Look for someone that you feel comfortable with personality wise and make sure you LOVE their images. Photographs are the only thing you have left from your wedding day so it’s really important that you love your wedding photographer and their work.
And if that wasn’t enough, here are some of her favorite pictures of sessions she has done!
Happy Friday!

I am so blessed to be able to work for such an amazing church, where they allow me to do what I love. When I became a part of the PBC family, the first thing they wanted to discuss was me becoming part of developing the wedding side of things. I was beyond excited and immediately said “Yes”!

This was my first Pantego Wedding and I could not have chosen a better couple to kick off the summer with! Amy & Bobby are precious and I love all the small glimpses you got of the love that they have for each other. A special ‘Thank You’ to Purpletree Studios for capturing all those great moments! Congratulations you guys!

Mr. & Mrs. Olsen:

Happy Wednesday!

If you have been following me for the past two weeks, you know that I have been reviewing my “Top Picks” as far as vendors go! Last week we met Jordan Laessig, and amazing videographer that talked to us about what is important when choosing your video person!

This week I am especially excited because we will be exploring one of my all time favorite venues, Thistle Springs Ranch! Unfortunately, I have never planned a wedding for this location, BUT everything I have heard from previous brides and vendors has been amazing! Their layout, staff and day-of are flawless & most of my friends have sent on their newly engaged friends to check it out!

Name: Thistle Springs Ranch
Location: Cleburn, TX
What they do: Provide a stunning venue for your Ceremony & Reception

This gorgeous venue seats 250 people and is tucked away just south of Fort Worth. I has more than one ceremony location and you may use the barn as your Ceremony & Reception location, if you choose! I has a Bride & Groom room and plenty of places to put all of your intimate details.

I have been waiting months to have the opportunity to post about this wedding!

I met Kelsi & Jonathan back when I was still in school at Dallas Baptist University and they have been dating for as long as I can remember.

I was overjoyed when I got the email from Kelsi letting me know that they had set a date and wanted me to be a part of their big day! The day of, everything went so smoothly and it was so comforting seeing them at such peace. The second they locked eyes, as she was walking down the aisle, everyone could tell that they were exactly where they wanted to be.

So, I would like to introduce to you, Mr & Mrs Davis:

Congrats you guys!

Venue: First Baptist Mansfield

Over the next few weeks I will be featuring my top vendor picks for every detail of your wedding day!

From your photographer to your venue, these could be some of the best relationships that you develop that will make your wedding day that much better. I hope to answer all your questions and get you excited about the possibility of choosing your vendors!

Be sure to come back next week for a My Top Picks post on Video!

I’ll be introducing you to my friend Jordan Laessig and talking about what you should look for when looking for a videographer!

I have been chomping at the bits to share these pictures with you guys!

Back at the beginning of the year, one of dearest friends, Elisabeth came to me about doing a styled shoot with her! Of course, I was so happy to join up with her, again!

We decided that this years Pantone Color of the year would be the best way to go and that’s where we came up with our Simple Elegance Emerald + Gold theme.

I am so, so thankful for the vendors that helped with this shoot and could not have worked with a better group of people!

I was especially excited about this video my friend Jordan Laessig made as a “behind the scenes” look at the shoot
