Sometimes you have post like last weekend and sometimes you have ones that are short and sweet. For me this either means two things; I was so in the moment that I didn’t have time to take pictures (which is never a bad thing) or that I was so relaxed and had a weekend of a little R&R. This was not the case for this past weekend, for if I had taken a lot of pics, it would’ve been a lot of pictures of traffic and last minute Christmas shopping – you can’t say anything, you know we are all guilty of it at some point. hahah

As some of you know, my grandmother suffered from a stroke almost three weeks ago. This past Tuesday we drove to Lubbock to have her transported to a rehab facility in Mansfield so she could be close to family. She has been quite the trooper and we have seen huge amounts of improvement! Praise the Lord!

She has a roommate named Lucy and she is quite the hoot. Every time I step foot in her room I always walk out laughing – and so does Nana. Since she has a long road of recovery ahead of her, I decided to keep up with some of the funny things Lucy says, so that when she is released we will have some funny memories to look back on. This is Round 1.

I cannot wait until I can share all the gorgeous pictures!! Not just the ones from my iPhone 😉

& finally, Sunday marked the beginning of Christmas Week! Can you believe it’s here in 3 days!?
We have been preparing for the Christmas Eve Services for over a month and had our first tech rehearsal yesterday.

If you would like to join us, we will be having two services on Christmas Eve! A Family Friendly Service at 3pm and A Traditional Services at 6pm.

Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Yesterday I turned 25. Holy Moly.

BUT that was not all I did this weekend. The weekend kicked off with a birthday dinner with some of my favorite ladies. Ever since college we have held a tradition to celebrate each girls birthday and that is just what we did.

I love taking an old tradition and sharing it with new friends! Thanks for coming friends! It was so much fun!

Saturday night, the birthday celebrations continued, but it wasn’t just for me! We also got to have our annual mother/daughter birthday celebration!! Our birthdays are 3 days apart, so we always like to party together with our family.

Eno’s was the perfect place to carb load before Sunday’s race!! Plus it’s delicious!!

& no trip to Bishop Arts would be complete with out a pit stop by Emporium Pies.

After 3.5 months of training, $500 in donations and a lot of prayer. The day finally came.

This girl. First, if you have never read Never Serious Blog, you will add it to your daily read. Natalie was my first bride of 2014, and we have a had a special bond ever since. She was running the full and I was so proud & loved getting to spend my time before the race catching up!

Little did this guy know, he was my best friend our last three miles. This was at mile 13, I was determined to beat my time and finish strong!

To God be the glory! My goal was to run under 1:58 (my last time) and I did by two minutes!!

A big, big, big THANK YOU to my amazing pit crew!! I don’t know what I would’ve done without you!

This whole experience was so rewarding. I originally decided to run this race when I found out that it was scheduled on my birthday, but I have always had a special place in my heart for human trafficking. It is around us every day and we don’t even know it. I knew the training process was going to be long, but I knew it would be easier knowing I had something to work towards. I was blown away at the response when the fundraiser began and so humbled to know that many people wanted to raise awareness. I am beside myself and don’t know what to say to thank you enough.

I am already considering Cowtown and the Rock N’ Roll Half. I always forget how hooked you get when you start running!!

This weekend was the best and I loved soaking up every single moment.

Have a great week! Only 10 days until Christmas!!!

This has been a crazy week so far. We all know what happens in December, Christmas Parties. A LOT OF THEM. BUT, it is a great way to step away from work and celebrate Christ and everything He has blessed us with.

This weeks video is so precious and I can’t wait for you to meet Abby & Adam

Happy Wednesday!

It’s officially December. Hallelujah. Just ignore the dumb weather outside and we can press on with Christmas decorations, music and parties! (oh the parties) This past weekend I did a whole lot of nothing. Considering we spent the whole week at the church decorating the stage for Christmas and preparing for Sunday, the weekend just felt like a good time to relax.

I forgot to get a picture of it once it was lit up, but I’ll be sure and get one this week 🙂

I also drew the winners for my Holiday Giveaway!! Thank you to everyone that participated!! Ladies, your packages are going in the mail today!!IMG_8906

Saturday night I met my youngest brother up at DBU for their Annual Choir Christmas Concert. Let’s just say I feel old. BUT this girl, on the conductors stand, did an amazing job!! I am so proud of her!IMG_8917

The concert was amazing, as always and made me miss being a pat of it.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! It’s officially 6 days until race day!!

When I saw the picture that Lauren Apel posted of these two after they tied the knot, I about died. I went to school with Daniel & Alyssa and was always jealous of her killer style. Lauren was the perfect pick as their wedding photog & she did an amazing job of capturing the theme of their day.

Oh how I love the Holidays! I actually put the tree up before we left for Thanksgiving in Houston, just so it would be ready to turn on when I got home. I was so happy I did!

I decided to kick off the weekend with a giveaway!! This lovely print will be mailed to two lovely winners and those winners will be chosen TONIGHT!! There’s still time to enter, so follow this link and see how to enter!

Road Trips are always crazy with this family & throw both of the dogs on top of it and you have one packed car. We spent Thanksgiving – Saturday down in Houston visiting my Dad’s side of the family.

We also saw Hunger Games Part 1. OMG. That’s all I’m going to say.

Since we are only 13 days from #BritnisBirthdayRun I had my last long run this weekend and hit it at 12 miles. I was so happy that I finished and realized that all the hard training is over and now I get to spend the next two weeks taking it easy and remembering why I chose to do this in the first place.

I’ve never understood why the Holiday’s have always made me want to go back to New York. Maybe it’s the sight of the tree going up in Rockefeller Center or bundling up to go out in the cold to see a show and go on adventures. This adorable New York wedding hit right at home this week as the warm weather lingers and I wish for cooler weather.

Hope you have a Happy Wednesday & a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Am I the only that does not feel like Thanksgiving should be happening this weekend?! I mean where is the world has the time gone? This weekend sure did add to the craziness, but it turned into a huge blessing!

This past Thursday was National Letterman Day & we all know that I will never miss a chance for a good dress up day!! (and of course, my eyes were closed)

10 Miles. That’s all I’m going to say. Hallelujah!

Oh how I wish I could be just a little more creative. I love the way hand lettering looks and I have been working a long time to be able to produce something worth showing others. Keep your eyes peeled this week, because I might have something special for all my Instagram followers 🙂

& last but not least was my final wedding of the season!!! I cannot wait for you guys to be able to lay your eyes on these gorgeous photos!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

This week is very special. I actually met the bride through her amazing work on Instagram! She is the owner of Kaitlin Parisho Designs and if you don’t already follow her, get on it.
