“Her prosperity does not make me inferior,
And I choose to cheer her on because community rises above competition.”

Part of my Intentional 2015 has included taking time to build relationships with others in the wedding industry. I think it so cool seeing coordinators cheering other coordinators on & even every other huge part that goes into making a wedding perfect and helping them along as they embark on this crazy journey of being self-employed.

I got an email a while back from an adorable photographer – Jessica Gold Photography! After weeks of trying to balance each others schedules, we finally scheduled a time to have brunch (yum)!! It was so refreshing and great to have time to meet with someone that goes through all the things you go through & I loved knowing that I had made a new friend! Brides if you are looking for an extremely talented photog, look this girl up!

I look forward to so many more brunches and coffee dates with some amazing people & can’t wait to learn more about why these ladies love what they do!

It’s Monday & the website has been live for a week! & honestly…it’s been one of the best weeks ever! I have been able to meet with some amazing people and I have been blown away with the community that this industry has.

I did want to take the next couple of days  to show you a behind the scenes look at what was inspiring me and the feeling I wanted to create when people looked at who Borrowed & Blue Occasions is!

I wanted to create a place that made people comfortable and gave them a glimpse into what B&B represents and wants to create for them. The word I used the most was, simplicity. Something that held the important information & photos that didn’t over whelm anyone & even me!

My girl Elisabeth was the one that spent countless hours putting it all together for me & eventually lead me to Seaside Creative, where I found the layout that I knew was perfect! A huge thank you goes out to Elisabeth and I know that no one could have made it as perfect and personal as you!

I hope you have enjoyed what you see!

Happy Snow Day!!!

Well… you know. Ice Day.
I don’t know about you, but I needed this SO badly.

Starting Thursday night we spent the next 3 days leading worship at a DNOW in Arlington. I just love taking a step back from the planning portion of my brain and use the small creative portion to just worship. It was so good for my soul.

I hope that your weekend was relaxing & fun & that you are getting the chance to relax and do amazing things today!

Who else is already over Monday?? Go ahead, raise your hand. Why can’t everyone get cool days off like President’s Day?? Sigh…

There’s good news on the horizon! I have been giving hints at a rebranding process and I am happy to say that we are so close my friends!! In less than two weeks, Borrowed & Blue Occasions will be turning two! & I felt like it was time to revaluate where things where going and how I could be a better planner, business woman and over all person to my couples!

So, take a deep breath and rock this Monday because you never know when the adventure is about to begin.

This last week marked my 100th post! I’m sure most of you are thinking – goodness woman, I encountered that 5 years ago. All I can say to you is – Get It! You are amazing & I’m seriously in awe.

On another note- Happy Valentine’s Day Week!!!

Sigh…there’s just something about amazing weather, gorgeous florals and love in the air.

Be on the look out for a post later on in the week talking about being a single girl around Valentine’s Day.
I hope that all you gorgeous girls have a fabulous week!!

You Make Me BraveSource

I’ve had this song on repeat for the past week. It’s not like I hadn’t heard it a million times already, but for some reason, this week it was fresh. It’s like something happened in me and I was hearing it with new ears.

I’ve never considered myself not to be brave, and by the worlds standards, I think that I’m probably very brave. I graduated college with a 10 hour a week job and starting a new business. The last day of work at DBU, I got a phone call asking to interview at Pantego Bible Church because they had an opening for an Events Assistant. I was floored because up until that moment, I had no idea how I was going to pay rent at my new apartment.

God provided.

I went in for an interview and was asked to come back for a second one. I met with the Events Director and was already ready to start! Later in the interview I was asked to consider a different position within the church as the Administrative Assistant to Worship & Media. I honestly didn’t know what to say…Events was my thing. I wanted to do them all the time, but most people don’t know that I actually went to school for Music Business. So, there was still a small part of me that was passionate about leading others in worship. I accepted the position in the Worship Department and have never looked back.

God provided.

These past two years I have grown tremendously as an artist and in knowledge of media and production. I have learned things that I would have never dreamed & a lot of it plays a huge role in where Borrowed & Blue has landed. Over the past two years I have also watched a huge dream – with small expectations- bloom. Bloom into a business that is built on relationships and showing brides, grooms and their families Christ love on one of the most important days of their lives.

God provided.

The one thing that is consistent in all of this is that every time God provided, I felt a tug that lead me to seeing the amazing things He can do. I am so happy and eager to say that I am feeling that tug again. It started a few months ago when I felt a need for a Home Group at Pantego that catered to my life stage. I wanted a place that people who had graduated college, were married or single and had not yet had kids, would feel plugged in. So, I acted and this morning I  met 22 people that feel the same way.

God provided.

There is no better feeling than when you know that you are following Christ. I am so eager to get to know each and every person and just do life together. I think it is so important to surround yourself with people that can encourage and cover you with love.

All of that to say, that being brave doesn’t mean you have to start your own business or uproot your life and move to a different state. It means whatever you feel the Lord is calling you to.

“You make me brave.”

This is how I felt waking up Friday morning.

Yep. & I’m pretty sure I did a little happy dance as I rolled over and soaked up the most amazing sunshine that was pouring through my windows. I mean….I feel like it has been at least a month since we’ve seen good sun like this.

I have no pictures from this weekend & I am not mad at all. For me, that means that I was soaking up some sweet moments with friends, family and Jackson.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Is there a limited about of times that you can post a picture?? I mean come on…how can you not stop looking at this shot? The dress and those florals are amazing.

I posted this picture because this is a great summary of my weekend. I spent the majority of it really digging into Borrowed & Blue and what I was hoping for it to become. I kept looking at this picture thinking…this is what I want.

Classically beautiful & full of grace.

That is what I want to be known for. That is what I want for my couples and the way they feel when they look over their pictures and are reminded of their day. So, that is what I am striving for.

The next few months are going to be an amazing journey of figuring out who my company is and what it can be & I cannot wait to experience it with you!

So, let’s do it!
